The numerous copper-plated disks of this chime exhibit a motif reminiscent of the Art Deco style which reached the height of its popularity in the 1920s and 30s.

Intended to be functional and modern, yet elegant and sophisticated, the Art Deco style was expressed in everything from automobiles to architecture. In fact, the Chrysler Building in New York City, one of the most iconic examples of Art Deco architecture, incorporates elements of the automobile - giant replicas of Chrysler hood ornaments and radiator caps - into the ornamentation of the building itself. The Art Deco movement quickly became a global phenomenon, and its influence can still be felt today.

Maintenance: Every part of a Woodstock Chime is weather protected. Over time, however, those layers of protection can begin to wear. To enjoy your Woodstock Chimes for years to come, we suggest the following simple maintenance tips --

Periodically, apply a thin layer of Danish or lemon oil with a clean cloth to the hardwood parts. Regular oiling will help protect the wood and retard the natural aging process.

Use a damp cloth to clean the glass parts. If necessary, mild soap and water (or glass cleaner) can be used.

Plated steel elements should be wiped clean with a duster or damp cloth. Polishes should not be used on these, as it may remove the protective varnish coating.
