This patriotic wind chime plays the last five notes in the refrain of America, the Beautiful, one of America's most beloved patriotic hymns.
No other song captures the grandeur of the American landscape and the indomitable spirit of the American people quite like America, the Beautiful.
In 1862 President Abraham Lincoln signed the Pacific Railroad Act, authorizing the construction of a transcontinental railroad. This monumental project was completed seven years later, connecting one seaboard to another and sea to shining sea by rail. And it was by train, in the summer of 1893, that poet and college professor Katherine Lee Bates traveled from Massachusetts to Chicago and on to Colorado Springs. At the summit of Pikes Peak in the Colorado Rockies, she was inspired to write the words to America, the Beautiful, which was first published two years later and eventually set to a melody by Samuel A. Ward.
This beautiful wind chime is suitable for both indoor or outdoor use.
Maintenance: Every part of a Woodstock Chime is weather protected. Over time, however, those layers of protection can begin to wear. To enjoy your Woodstock Chimes for years to come, we suggest the following simple maintenance tips --
Periodically, apply a thin layer of Danish or lemon oil with a clean cloth to the hardwood parts. Regular oiling will help protect the wood and retard the natural aging process.
Use mild soap and water (or a foaming, non-abrasive cleanser) to clean the glass parts.
Plated steel elements should be wiped clean with a duster or damp cloth. Polishes should not be used on these, as it may remove the protective varnish coating.
