Made of strips of bamboo wrapped around a mold, the result is uniquely elegant and remarkably weather resistant.
Spun bamboo is created using a technique that is over one thousand years old yet the resulting design is far from old fashioned. In fact, it's a wonderfully contemporary look that adds a touch of style and color to any garden. Spun bamboo is created by shaping thin strips of pliable bamboo around molds and drying them to shape. Pieces are then hand-sanded to a smooth, silky finish and multiple layers of weather-resistant varnish are applied to achieve a hard, glossy finish. Each piece is uniquely elegant, reflecting the textures of bamboo in an attractive spiral pattern.
Bamboo gives these chimes a mellow, enchanting sound unlike any other chime. These chimes are made with pride by craftsmen of Bali and Vietnam using non-endangered wood, coconut shell, recycled metal and bamboo. Testing the sound of each tube, the musician-craftsmen create chimes that sound as good as they look. By hand-tuning each tube and selecting a range of sizes, each chime produces a unique melody of tones.
To maintain their beauty we suggest varnishing each season and protecting your chime during inclement weather. Small cracks are normal in bamboo. To avoid large cracks and fading, do not hang in direct sunlight or near any heat source.
To clean, wipe with a damp cloth.
