It's been said that..."necessity is the mother of invention..." Our own wind chime story isn't too far removed from this quotation originally penned by Plato ,though slightly altered, from his work-- Republic. It didn't take philosophy, though, to figure out that "necessity" had just been dumped in our laps.

Almost simultneously, as the result of a declining economy, both of us were jettisoned from careers in photography and civil engineering into a world of..."now what?".

This wind chime story would have flowed much smoother if it could have been topped with a bow prettier than "soul searching". Unfortunately, in an effort to add drama to this story, neither of us can claim to have backgrounds in welding, inventing wind chimes, or any other dramatic link to this beautiful, musical industry.

However, what we both do have is a belief in honesty, quality and prayer. It could have been one, or a combination of all of these that gave rise to what happened next. While sitting on the hard surface of desert landscaping and staring into the murky abyss of "which direction?", a brief prayer was offered up. Before the final mental-dialogue had drifted away, a solitary gust of wind activated the entire row of wind chimes along the back of the house. Belief prevailed over doubt and a business was born.

If there is a bow for this story it is that our belief in honesty, quality and prayer didn't fade with the wind. These are the core values we use as we approach those we meet and the wind chime products we select and sell.
